Sure, I guess having the secondary "type" as Pendulum Monsters do reduce dead draws, but then their usefulness needs to outweigh other cards you would've drawn instead. The deck can already perform relatively easy Special Summons, this better make SSP obsolete, clear related monsters to that end, AND have a use outside of being the Pendulum Zone cards to start summons. I'm not quite convinced of their usefulness (at least with this decktype) yet. I'm more interested in starting without draw for both sides of the coin. Infernities can set up easier OR Infernities have 1 less card to push through. SSP? And agreed, Pendulum looks cool, but not worth it yet.

There are very few decks that can actually say that too. Infernity is probably what I'll end up playing the bulk of the time if we get the turn 1 player doesn't draw. At least until I can find something else that is just as happy with 5 cards as they are with 6. I'm not really convinced of the usefulness of Pendulum at all right now. There is no easy way to get it set up, and definitely no 1 card way to d it. Xyz and Synchros are both faster in that regard. Not to mention you NEED to draw them AND "survive" the -2. Just re-tried Synchrofernities. I was trying too much I guess and it didn't go too well, and playing Xyzcentric for so long kinda changes the outlook on old Infernity strategy (read: Infernity Inferno). Went back to Xyzcentric, trying 3 Breaks since I hate not having anything to search in the end. Dunno if it's what I'll take to Regionals, but it's the top contender. Here's the list (pretty standard): Monsters (13): 3 Infernity Archfiend 3 Infernity Necromancer 2 Summoner Monk 2 Stygian Street Patrol 1 Dark Grepher 1 Armageddon Knight 1 Archfiend Heiress Spells (13): 3 Upstart Goblin 3 Instant Fusion 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Infernity Launcher 1 Transmodify (couldn't easily justify 3 copies of these, and I needed room) 1 Foolish Burial 1 Archfiend Palabyrinth 1 Reinforcement of the Army Traps (14): 3 Infernity Barrier 3 Infernity Break 2 Mirror Force 2 Dimensional Prison 1 Compulsory Evacuation Device 1 Solemn Warning 1 Bottomless Trap Hole 1 Trap Stun Side Deck: 1 Trap Stun 2 Fiendish Chain 2 Skill Prisoner 2 DNA Surgery 1 The Huge Revolution is Over 1 Soul Drain 1 Eradicator Epidemic Virus 2 Dust Tornado 1 Mystical Space Typhoon 2 Light-Imprisoning Mirror Extra Deck: 1 Darkfire Dragon 1 Barox 2 Lavalval Chain 2 Diamond Dire Wolf 1 Daigusto Emeral 1 Gagaga Cowboy 1 Maestroke the Symphony Djinn 1 Abyss Dweller 1 Leviair the Sea Dragon 1 Number 85: Crazy Box 1 Number 66: Master Key Beetle 1 Number 50: Blackship of Corn 1 Evilswarm Ouroboros If only the deck can play Mind Crush (in the mid/late game).

I still don't understand the use of Barox in the extra. It's a level 5 and you have no other way to use a 5 for either Xyz or Synchros. Also ever think about another of the new tech ideas- Tin Goldfish?

This is true.. I am very confused as to why Barox is being run in this. It seems to make more sense to run another lv4 instant target.

This also isn't the first time I've seen it done, still can't figure it out though.

Barox's ONLY use:
Infernity Archfiend on board Archfiend Palabyrinth active Instant Fusion for Barox Activate Archfiend Palabyrinth Banish Barox
I could maybe also try to find another slot for a second Darkfire Dragon maybe.

Wow.... That seems kinda useless when the slot could easily go to something else. I've always preferred a lv3 fusion there to make R3 plays easier with a used Necro or an otherwise dead Heiress.

That's if you expect the rest of the following to be true:
You dead drew those Level 3s You happen to get Instant Fusion AND want to use it for a Rank 3 You have something worth summoning back with Leviair, because Zenmaines/Fortune Tune are hard to justify in the deck that rarely wants to Rank 3
Rank 3s should not be made unless they're Leviair. That typically implies a drawn Heiress or Necromancer that you don't want on the field. Fortune Tune would be my second Rank 3 to fill in if I want to reuse Heiress, but after one use it's pretty much all spent (unless you get Archfiend's Roar in the deck).
Also, I don't have a Flame Ghost or a Level 3 Fusion for the most part anyways. At least one I can get now. The point still stands: If you had to summon that Level 3 Fusion, you're not doing well and are desperate for a play. Typically, you'll get back a Stygian Street Patrol as those are most likely to be banished, which is something, but still not a big deal. Rarely do Archfiends get banished, the only way that happens is via Palabyrinth or opponent's cards (you'd never banish one for Break if you can help it).
All the same, should I come upon Flame Ghost by tomorrow I'll find a spot anyways. I run 3 Instant Fusion after all, so having 3 Fusions wouldn't hurt. I rarely make extra Xyz and I can even recycle some with Daigusto Emeral (so DDW could go down to 1 or cut Ouroboros).
Regarding Tin Goldfish... interesting to say the least. Why that over Goblindbergh? Better stats?

Doesn't cause Archfiend to miss timing.
And the Heiress doesn't even need to be recycled if used in a #49 or Zenmaines, since they don't detach materials as cost it triggers the search for Heiress. And actually I have had double Necro on field, both used with 1 Archfiend and Palabyrinth with a set Instant. Banished 1 Necro for an Archfiend SS, then Instant Fusion the lv3 fusion and went into Leviair to get Necro back and more SS tricks. Its going to be more a preference/play style choice though.

OH! That didn't register with me, great point!
I know those ones would work but I still think it an unlikely play (don't want to come to that kind of thing).
I'll give it a shot anyways. I know the plays that exist so I guess it wouldn't hurt to revisit them.
I also picked up a Kamionwizard, which basically nullifies my need for a second Darkfire Dragon.

There was actually a surprising number of Infernity at my regional yesterday, I never had to play them but I had a few friends both lose and win against them.
Unlikely, but its something I have done.

It was ironic my last match of the day yesterday at my Regionals was Infernities. Got lucked out by Trap Stun... AGAIN.

So what did you end up taking? Assuming it wasn't Infernities yourself.
