From the intial start of Yu-Gi-Oh, Plants, like most of the lower tier types, were placed under the category of mundane and menial, in comparison to such types as Warriors and Spellcasters, to name a few. However, two major events in the comparative timeline sparked the revolution needed for the once unpretentious type to reach new levels within the competitive metagame. After the release of both Lonefire Blossom and Gigaplant in the booster set Phantom Darkness, Plants as a whole type, finally gained the consistency and speed that it required to turn it into a legit menace against the reigning tier decks of the time.
Even with their newly found power, they were still pedaling the back burners as a slowly dying type in a new era of Synchro summoning. That is, until the set after the debut of Synchros and Tuners, that Plants truly took on their role as the quintessential type that defined this new method of summoning, Crossroads of Chaos. Such cards as Tytannial, Princess of Camellias, Copy Plant, Mark of the Rose and Pollinosis, to name a few, along with their destructive namesake, Black Rose Dragon, really set the bar for the type to become something of respect amongst the new brood of other synchrocentric engines.
But where the deck truly saw its spot in the sunlight, was with the release of Spore and Glow-Up Bulb, two of the most influential tuners in the Synchro era. Because of their usefulness and versatility alongside other older cards, this gave rise to the Plant engine, which would become the staple as an engine for most, if not all Synchro heavy decks for most of the 5d’s Era. However, the exponentially increasing “abuse” of this engine caused harm to the collective metagame, which lead to opposition by the Yu-Gi-Oh Community. Their continued negativity towards the type rather than the engine itself forced Konami to greatly cripple the engine by limiting the easiest token producer Dandylion in September 2011 and banning both Glow-Up Bulb and Spore in March 2012. From March 2012 onward, the world of Yu-Gi-Oh would be forced to conditionally retool or even shelve the Plant engine with each return of valued cards, which caused the type as a whole to fall back into obscurity. It was only from the apex of the Synchro era into the advent of the Xyz era of Yu-Gi-Oh ! Zexal, have Plants started to sprout new life with the new Xyz Meliae of the Trees, amongst new future support.

Naturia Marron, Puppet Plant, Hedge Guard, and a number of normals for Rabbit plays. marron and puppet plant perhaps but the rest are lack luster. hmm, what non plant earth lv 3's would work best with this deck?? I want to spam miliae as often as possible to get her effects often.

I was going to say Crane Crane would be one of the best but Fox slapped it in the OP and beat me to it.

Regardless, take a look at 1st post. Yeah I was thinking crane crane and trooper, but running psychics (silent serene, psychic commander and esper girl) to augment that and give you better naturia access, as well as more access to soul of silver mountian.

Honestly I have bad luck with the psychic variant. I try running them several times, but I never was able to find synergy.

I have a lot of experience with making engines work together in tandem with regards to psychics (anyone remember my hero kid decks?? that's STILL a thing...I have to post one yet on here tho). I'll see what I can get going for you.

Literally Meliae Plant is basically Card Trooper, Maxx "C", Crane Crane, Redox, Wind-Up Rabbit, Plants = Dumb Stuff. It just loses to decks that maintain a stable approach to the game from start to finish. I was testing this back when Bujin Garden was the latest buzz and I think I stopped people from trying to run that deck on DevPro since I would just put Tytannial on board and crush their souls. Also, Tempest is useless, or just excess.

You bring up a solid point, too many non plants just to get to a "weakened, yet strengthened" lonefire blossom/gigaplant. This is why I was asking what good plant earth lv 3's there are.

Your psychic ratios are skewed a bit. I'd run 1-2 witch, 2-3 commander and probably drop an esper. I'd also drop the wizard. that kind of set up demands cleric, and thats too much invested into non-plant deckspace. That frees up 2 (probably 3 deckspace). that makes room for atleast 2 mandragora. then between heavy reborn and POA you should find room for a gigaplant, copy plant and maybe a fallen angel/tytannial. without testing that'd be my fixes. Could this work(it's just theory, so it will be rough in spots). gets the most out of the tree spirit, allows for a back up draw system and some nice tech and defense from the traptrix, the extra is largely assumptions, which is why it bled into the side.

Bled into the side is not the term I would use. But it is definitely interesting.

Here is the version my friend built from last format. It's been updated, but I'm not sure he wants me handing that out at this point. This is a great start, though.
