Why not both? A deck with Simorgh and this guy could be amazing Because this guy is Light Thunder. No synergy with Simorgh or any of the engines used to summon him. I don't need Synergy, I just need MANergy. Splashing 3 of this guy into my own Simja is easy, especially for that game winning softlock.

Well, Anti-Spell could be nice as a supplement, but only if you can then take advantage of the fact that this combo will leave the opponent with lots of Spells in their hand. I mean, they would still be able to activate Spells with just Sekka on the field, but ASF is what really seals the lock. Exactly. My thought is more of that it turns it into a monster effect duel to an extent. Supplement that with Messenger of Peace and some Watts to direct attack? You've got a nice little combo going. Not that hard to get out with Thunder Sea Horse and Duality etc either.

You guys ARE talking about Anti-Spell Fragrance right? Because Anti-Spell IS an actual card...

NECH-JP079 Solemn Advice Counter Trap Card While you control no other Set cards in your Spell & Trap Zone, when a monster(s) would be Summoned, OR when a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect is activated: Pay 3000 Life Points; negate the Summon or activation, and if you do, destroy that card.

Whats with the bullets on the card?
Makes it seem there is something missing from the effect.
The requirement favors decks that like to play continuous spells/traps. A more difficult to use SoJud, not amused byt this.
Here is an idea Konami instead of creating harder to use versions of banned cards, limit the damn cards back into the game and ignore the butt hurt ass wipes that complain about it.
Still no Mega-Monarch revealed, not happy with that.

They haven't been depicted in any art yet, and Konami is loving the 4 Elemental Attributes lately. E-Lords, Dragon Rulers, these 4 Mega Monarchs...

We probably aren't going to see anymore mega monarchs. If you follow the card lore, one mega monarch for every Dragon Ruler (Redox:Granmarg, Tidal:Mobius, Blaster:Thestalos, Tempest:Raiza). Also, the new Solemn is failsauce. Just saying.

Also, the new Solemn is failsauce. Just saying. I would say 1 Mega Monarch for every Elemental Lord, as they were released in the same order. Earth > Water > Fire > Wind.

Regarding the new Solemn:
I like how new cards can only be met with criticism of either "OMGBBQ it's BROKEN!" or "it's garbage", and there's no in between. I hypothesize that's due to the laziness in terms of judging a card fully, and would rather give it a thumbs up or down instead of putting it somewhere in the middle of the scale of 1 to 10, for example.
If it were generically good, then that splashability would've made it "broken". But because it's a better fit for only some decks, it's automatically bad.
I think it has great potential for particular ideas. And even particular plays/playstyles. The "cons" can be worked around so that the pros will be useful. Here are some of those workarounds:
- Using it in backrow light decks - Using it in decks with chainable backrow since they can leave the field quickly - Using it with Continuous stuff (as aforementioned) - Play it in Tag Dueling - Play it in Decks that run Hope for Escape - Play it in Counter Fairy (you eventually run through your other Trap cards eventually) - Play it against Decks that run Hope for Escape
And that's just to name a few.
Regarding the bullet points: It probably reads like this in Japanese: <Restriction> Pay 3000 LP to: - Negate a Summon - Negate an Effect
(something along those lines)
Regarding Mega Monarchs, we haven't got a full spoiler, so IDK what you're complaining about this early into its spoiler season.

I don't see me fitting the new solemn into my counter fairy deck. I tend to running almost big backrows every game, and there are better cards that don't have me sawing off so much LP just to negate summon/spell/trap.
Tag duels is something rarely seen IRL.
There is only really one deck that runs hope for escape, that turbo exodia deck. That deck is so rarely encountered it is not even worth siding for.
Personally I much rather have the original SoJud back than a knock off with a set lp cost. @ 1 copy per deck and a more flexible LP cost I think it is a much better card to have around.
As for my complaint with the mega monarch you are right it is early, but the others came in the first few spoilers. Pus I kinda want to see what the card is going to look like and do. I still think we are going to see more mega monarchs. Yes they did follow the same elemental pattern as the lords so far, but there are more monarchs in this game than lords anyway.

I like the new solemn. Not a bad card with the fact that it might only be good at the beginning of the duel. But it is a nice one.

New solemn is nothing more than wallet rape technique.

Maybe not. It won't be good in any deck so... Let's see the rarity first... if it is secret rare, than that might be the case. If not, you just have to wait until the hype is gone.
By the way... no deck that plays soul charge will want to play this.
