We are looking for a member to spear head this discussion and any potential child board this might evolve into. For now any poke'-fans can discuss how best to "catch'em all" and anything else related to this game here. (does mentioning the catch phrase date my poke'mon knowledge???who knows.)

Well I might as well try something.
I may not have been an avid Pokemon TCGer, but I check how things are like from time to time. Last period I was active was just earlier this year, around when Plasma sets were coming out. Last set I picked up was a box of the THEN new set, Plasma Freeze.
Now that X and Y has come out, there'll be those new sets too. I haven't checked the spoiler for the recent sets since Freeze, but I'll eventually get to it. I did, however, see the new starter decks, and I'm kinda amazed at one of the reprints in the Fire deck: Pokemon Catcher! I wasn't around when one of the earlier releases of this card was about, so I didn't really have a way to pick these up easily or cheaply. Now I can pick up this deck twice to get a full playset! I might just make my way back into the game eventually... provided I have the funds for it. >.<

I'd be careful with Pokemon Catcher now Ragda, because new versions in XY require a coin flip

That so, eh? That makes it kinda more fair. Then again, it's a bit worse now, sorta like that one Hammer that took out energies...
Well, when I look into the game again, I'll definitely be sure to be up to date with all these changes.

Also if you want to get catcher, go out and look for the Red Genesect collection, it has a lot of really good trainers, including catcher all in foil

Oh snap that sounds pretty sweet! All the same though, I probably just keep that in mind until I can actually afford to get back into that game, but this is certainly useful info!

This is the TCG thread btw. Maybe you can start up a Pokemon Video Game thread.
Also, HP always has 60 BP nowadays.

True enough for HP.
I am guessing the creators of the calculator I used kept it available for all gens.
Might just start the PKMN Game thread.

Currently in pokemon TCG, the big decks tend be Blastoise Variants, VirGen (Virizion and Genesect), Lugia speed, Accelmew (last I knew anyway) and a "Rainbow" deck designed to deal with all types, as well as Rayboar and other EX based decks

Did AccelMew stuff get reprinted, coz I thought that was old stuff? Also, is Darkrai still a thing?

yes darkrai is still very much a thing. Also there is a new rule in pokemon TCG, the player who goes first like in YGO cannot attack on their first turn. Mew EX i know got a reprint in legendary treasures and as far as Accelgor goes, I keep hearing about the deck so it must still be around to some degree. Also really big right now is Garbodor with garbotoxin being run in a lot of decks and Keldeo EX too

No back in the day unfortunately such a rule didn't exist, but it does now.
