Frogs and Monarchs are like peas and carrots. But I do like how Konami seems to be leading players to a culture change for Monarchs with this new support. They are asking a serious question of duelists and how they interpret available avenues for play. The Extra Deck not being a factor for a deck seems like there will be some interesting discussion coming from players, especially the less developmental players who just look to be told how to play and therefore hold onto what they "know" until they stumble upon a new thought with explanations given.

I'm wondering if that is a precursor to more cards helping decks that are made without an Extra, or a small enough one that the cards can be used before these new things hit play.

Loving the mega Mobius right now. I doesn't just hit the backrow too. The trap card also look interesting. I was planning on doing a no extra Monarch deck. The bolded part makes no sense. The info given says to target up to 3 spell/trap cards and destroy them, that sounds like just the backrow to me. Wishful thinking on my part. I read the card wrong.

lol Read better, you're a teacher! When It counts I do. Staring to think Mega Raiza will have a Trunade effect. Just wondering what cards are used for the Heiratic engine in this deck. Might be something I want to pursue in my next monarch deck. OP needs to be updated with TCG released Mega Monarchs, and any direct support cards they have currently.

Usually 3 Tef and a level 6 dragon, sometimes a low-level tuner.

Reminded me of Cornarchs getting big out of nowhere a few years ago. Even though the deck itself really was only good in the hands of the player who ran it. I have a feeling that Illusory Snatcher is going to get big soon as a way to put things on the board. Also works really well in Chainarchs

I'm thinking about trying it out in a Chaos Monarch build here soon. Just need to get more Caius again.

Im interested in march..but how much reaccurance can we provide? Ronin spam? Macro monarchs? I'm thinking that March of the Monarchs is just... lacking. If it wasn't such MST bait and only good for tribute monsters I'd run it more.

Even as MST bait wouldn't that help out your other S/T that could be used for control?

Even as MST bait wouldn't that help out your other S/T that could be used for control? No, I hate looking at cards as distractions. March of the Monarchs is the card that holds field position. Against swarm decks, you rely on the card to hold the field. If an MST is going to be the death of your field, you better be protecting it. If I'm likely going to be summoning a monster per turn, like Gadgets, but to disrupt, I know the big problem I have is keeping fodder on the field. In comes Return and March. My big concern is keeping it on the field. And while those cards prevent extra deck use, we could always use a Crystal Beast favourite in... Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings. Hard card to use, but even more cards this deck should be looking at to abuse. And it allows you to get the extra deck going. As a level 6, it matches up with the main monarchs for Rank 6. Other possibilities for floaters; Cyber Dragon: When paired with Zaborg, Rank 5, is also light for a Chaos Element Tragoedia: Doesn't need a clear field, can be a chump blocker. Often this deck has bigger hands so it's not always a weak beater Illusory Snatcher: searchable with Return of the Monarchs, it creates presence on field every time something is tribute summoned. I don't see a reason not to play this. D-Hero Engine: Not sure about this because of no stratos but could be salvageable. Among others, deck has interesting options.

Snatcher can clog draw @ times used to have this in many of my monarch builds had to cut them for this reason. Can be searched with Return, only issue is that it equals its level to the monster that was tribute summoned, and that typically leads to an Xyz summon which is impossible to do with return on the field.
I can't see Macro Monarchs being played with what Konami did to that deck last format. Pisses me off because I had the deck practically built IRL too.
March is pretty awesome the protection and is worth playing with a zero extra monarch deck.

I just can't wait to test/re-test monarchs next format, something tells me they are going to rise once more with the turn of the new year.
