Which leads me to think Mermails may actually survive the upcoming list. If 2 of Teus, Sphere or Linde get hit, the deck likely won't survive. However, if they hit Gunde deck is slowed down significantly off the bat which in itself could kill the deck because it can't retain advantage with the field. Honestly, the deck can survive without sphere. It can't survive without enough Teus. But it also can't function as it does without Gunde.
Lots of possibilities.

Teus is the biggest thing that has needed to get hit, I always thought that was the better move when the OCG Limited Teus and Sphere but we hit Diva and Dragoons. It literally created 2 different versions of the deck between the 2 metas and I haven't seen their Mermails do anything the times I went looking.

Just because they have not done anything does not mean they are not great. Remember OCG has a different meta meaning different decks that they have to deal with. In addition, in the lastest OCG banlist, Dragoons went to 1. Last I heard, mermails were doing some explosive stuff in the OCG while Chronomalies were releveant.

That is true, but I see where Ursiel if coming from. The diva dragoons hit AT the time in the TCg was arguably the "wrong" hit. it should have been the OCG's tuess sphere hit, it stabilized the deck and still left atlantians as a viable stand alone deck, and for that matter diva variants too. essentially the dragoons diva strike took down more rogue decks then it's intended target, as those kind of decks fell off the map here mermails are STILL alive and had something like 2-3 formats of "top" status (top 3 in rulers, top 3 in axis, and top 3 in dragon/prophecy/ect).

I would say they are still pretty significant.
