Are RUMs being used to hit the Rank 5s?

Does this deck still have the speed to keep up?
I mean we have inzektors winning all over, how will you handle that matchup?

Only thing I can think of is to speed into Gaios.

I never once supported that trend of atrocious decks, regardless of the here and there, hit or miss, success, that saw people running over 45 cards.
As far as a new direction: Rank 5

Oh, didn't notice this had an additional page with more comments.
No, I'm not running RUM, that card is bad.
I'd say the Inzektor decks I have seen running around recently due to the recent top that has peeps all abuzz are nothing to fear. And outside of Side Decking anything in particular for a rogue, and highly random match-up, just play Yugioh and you can/should beat the deck. It won't have the surprise factor, but it won't have the surprise factor of specific cards which is what the new Inzektor deck has everyone talking about. Mermail is still dirty and finds it's success the same way as Inzektors; good/functional/and/or functional hands.

It's not necessarily a good or a bad trend, it's merely that; something that phases in and out. The thing with the deck when I ran approximately 42-45 cards, I drew better. Less likely to power open, but easier to open with more plays. It's a weird phenomenon I had when playing the deck. But, 3 Tidal was a huge part of that. Genex is still "Bad" in the sense it hasn't reinvented that strategy and it's less fundamentally sound without so much Monster aggression running around. It's all back row heavy, slower trap based defensive line-ups that are killing that strategy. Right now, I'm not following your Rank 5 idea. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of spamming Dragon Ice, activating Gunde, and spamming massive resources to hand trap triggers. But still, seems rather gimmicky and falls into the Rank-Up Magic category in my eyes. I think I might still try the Dragon Ice plays. makes a great late game push and forcing Atlantean plays through.

Over 40 is a preference, not a trend. Well, I guess it gets trend-like when some rando occurrence of a deck over 40 tops and peeps jump on the wagon. Although, I do have a very close friend whose opinion on Yug I trust very much and we still sit and argue +40. We always end agreeing that attempting to argue preference is impossible, but I always feel I have the better of the argument since we can count on one to two hands how many +42 decks have done premier event work and we'd need a convention center amount of hands to count the 40 card decks that have done everything else.
I never once mentioned Dragon Ice. That card is worse than RUM. Mander for crike'sake, lol.

Now that I've had a chance to look at it, Mander just seems bad. Most times you are going to have a mix of level 3 and 4s on field. Mander effects them all the same so unless you have multiple of 3 or 4 its not worth it. IMO anyway. Mermails look to be fine the way that they've been played since last format.

Anyone got a new decklist for Mermails or is it still standard from last format?

Yeah at this point the deck needs either a new support card or a serious overhaul as I think it's piqued a little bit.
Rank 5 was briefly discussed but was dismissed fairly quickly (by our sites standard anyways).
I have thought about trying to abuse more Hilde plays, and introducing Dichotomy with more salvage. That would require a bigger engine of running through the deck, however. Any ideas on that?

Yeah we do need some new support.Never played with hilde before or thought about running dichotomy. No ideas on a deck that runs hilde or any ideas on a engine that runs through the deck.I gotta proxy the rest of my cards and try my deck out to see how it would fare.Tidal is the only one I can't fit text on paper to put in my sleeve so I will have to get 1.I will post my deck here when I can get the time.
