Maybe, because our member base can't quite "set the bar" for attracting new members, we should focus on improving our own decks and performance. I see zero reason to try to recruit anyone to this team until we get our current roster optimized. By, I understand that there may be good free agents out there, but that doesn't mean anything until this team accomplishes something to make them want to come over to us in the first place.
We have to build from within until this team establishes some actual relevance on DN. It seems we have enough people right now to participate in whatever events we'll need to, so why reach for more than that when we don't have the leverage to do so? I feel that squabbles over how we can expand are not a worthwhile use of our time when we haven't even gotten off the ground yet. Can we please show some common sense, put that aside for now, and just figure out where we will actually begin?
I have to say that this is an unappealing disaster so far. I expected more from it, and I hope you'll all take my advice so this can feel less like a job and more like an enjoyable, organized way to duel.

While you make an excellent point I must bring this up. A lot of people get this wrong in terms of what a Rated Dueling Team is. If you want to have fun the way you're use to, a Rated Team is not for you. If this is going to be a serious team, it needs to be that. Serious. Fun has to put on the back burner when playing for keeps, that's why you don't see the 'pros' running Crystal Beasts despite how fun they may think they are. There is a reason I dislike playing Ranked games where I enjoy the noncompetitive nature, because Ranked WILL destroy the fun, and it's hard to swap between normally.

What Mas said is very true. This is not locals, this is nationals, you're playing for keeps not for fun. Personally, I enjoy this method of dueling so I will have fun. I can't say I'm sure the rest of you will.

Fair enough. Apparently, "fun" was the wrong word to use. I wasn't implying the use of fun decks. I was trying to say that this was supposed to be an enjoyable activity, but had not been that so far. I have nothing against high-level competition. However, this is still supposed to be something one actually likes to do. I am hopeful that this team will yet prove to be that.

Competition for me is also fun for me. As for me I long as I have fun during the duel it will even more enjoyable.
The whole playing for keeps mentality is something I am very familiar with and easy for me to achieve.
I am also going to the give you all a fair warning, when I get into that mode I can become "unbearable" @ times. It is nothing personal.
Going off what Burn said, we should try to schedule a specific time we all can be online to test against each other. This way we can optimize our decks and our play. There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to hold our own in any competitions we enter.

Rated Dueling is not like competitive dueling as many are used to.
Where Meta becomes the major factor in deck building for the tournaments we read coverage on all the time, Rated Dueling on DN is degenerate, trolly and dumbed down meta. You essentially have role players playing decks that fit into a certain aspect of the above. This is an entirely different type of dueling, where even "Fun" decks can be used effectively. . We need to decide our play styles and how to utilize them. Then pick decks that suit that.

^This makes me think I could use ParalEclipse to great success... Everyone needs to be much clearer about this type of dueling, or I'm going to start to have second thoughts about participating.

This is not the case in my opinion. I don't see trollzy fun decks in wars. I see meta.

We're a team without any rating, what makes, going into season with no predetermined field. You can see anything.

Serious question.
Should we drop this for now? It's like herding cats. Last time we had a meeting no one showed up. We keep talking about testing together but nothing happens. etc. .-.

Welp, what a rousing response. Guess we're dropping this.

It's not even really that. It's more of that every single on of us (including myself I admit) is 99% talk. No action. We should revisit the idea when we have a bigger member base.

I am busy with the tourneys here and that is more than enough for me.
