**** The Inzektor archetype is a well established archetype, but since we didn't have an adequate Discussion, and also due to a request, I decided I would remedy that. The deck consists of Dark Insects that aim to punish the opponent for playing cards while gaining advantage at the same. The Inzektor monsters can work in combination to alter their ATKs, Levels, as well as trigger each others effects which can add cards from the your deck, special summon monsters from your deck or even destroy cards on the field.
Let's Begin:
* RUN 3 Inzektor Centipede is the hand that can reach into your deck and grab what ever Inzektor card you may need at that moment. Centipede has truly become the focal point to the modern day Inzektor decks since the Limiting of Hornet and Dragonfly. Your opening game will generally revolve around summoning Centipede and equipping him with Giga-Mantis or Zektkalibur.
* RUN 1 Dragonfly was once one of the most dynamic monsters in the game, but due to her Limit on the Ban List, has seen less of an important role in the success of the Inzektor deck. With that being said, Dragonlfy can still facilitate extremely dynamic turns in the right conditions. Her ability to Special Summon an Inzektor Monster from your deck can be easily manipulated with the deck and several times a turn at that.
* RUN 3 Ladybug. Inzektor decks of the past wanted to abuse Hornet as much as possible as early as possible. But, with Hornet's Limit, Inzektor players had to reevaluate the deck and find a new strategy or let the deck die. Well, we all know how that turned out. The deck adapted. Less focus is put on Dragonfly and Hornet and has been placed on Centipede and Ladybug. Ladybug changed the strategy from constantly destroying cards and Special Summoning loads in one turn to now just using Centipede to search the deck for a slower set-up game and changing the Extra Deck from an all out Rank 3 assault to a more diverse tool box. Ladybug gives access to Rank 5's and 6's that really add a new look to the deck and the problems it can offer it's opponents.
* RUN 1 Hornet.
* RUN 1 (2) Giga-Mantis isn't hard to understand. He serves to purposes in general: A) Increasing the ATK of an Inzektor Monster. Preferably Centipede in the situations where a big body is needed. B) Centipede is another facet to the combo side of the Inzektors game. A continuation piece that allows the deck to build and push.
* RUN 0-3 Not every deck will run Hopper, especially since it was ruled he cannot activate Turn 1 when you cannot attack. Since then he has either dropped from the Inzektor builds, or has become a one-of flavor card. The most important things to note about Hopper is that he can Equip Hornet for simple destruction, or, and more importantly, be used in the big combo part of the Inzektor game. Hopper's inclusion can make for the easiest route to making Shock Master.
* Tour Guide From the Underworld used to be an auto addition for Inzektors, and is still somewhat the same today, but she has fallen out of favor just a bit. TGU supports the Rank 3 Xyz theme, as well as just being a one card Leviair play that can turn a game around. With the loss of Sangan, not only TGU, but the Inzektor deck itself, has taken a hit.
* Card Trooper can be added to the Inzektor deck to have a great answer for Thunder King Rai-Oh. TKRO isn't a bad problem for Inzektors since they could just Hornet pop him, but that isn't always an option. Card Trooper also offers the deck a speedier game. Putting Inzektors in the Graveyard to gain access to Dark Armed Dragon more quickly, but more importantly, to use in combination with Call of the Haunted.
* Armageddon Knight is one of the older support cards for Inzektors. Players want that Hornet in the Graveyard as soon as possible and the Knight helped to facilitate that.
* Genex Ally Birdman is another of the older style of support cards for the deck that has fallen to the way side, but it is still there for interested duelists. He can be used to return an Inzektor that has been Effect Veilered or Fiendish Chained and after the fact make a Rank 3 Xyz, or the old play of making Underground Arachnid.
* Dark Armed Dragon seems like a automatic addition to the Inzektor deck, but it really comes down to player preference. Since controlling the Darks in your Graveyard can be tedious at times, play testing will only help you to see if Dark Arm Dragon is the right addition. But let's not be mistaken; DAD can win games on his own at times.
* Mystic Tomato can be used in the deck to gain access to searchable Inzektors you may need, but it also helps make DAD live faster as well.
* RUN 0-2 Transmodify is the newest card to change how Inzektor players build their deck. Turning turn 1 Ladybugs into Centipede/Dragonfly really helps to kick start the deck from positions/opening hands where the player would generally be left in a holding position.
* Run 1 Foolish Burial acts as a 2nd Inzektor Hornet. You won't always draw Hornet, or be able to search him from an effect such as Centipede's since the game state may require a different search, so having access to Hornet in another way is nice.
* RUN 1-2 Zektkaliber is the Inzektor's weapon of choice. It's ability to add an Inzektor Monster from your Graveyard to your hand when it leaves the field while being face-up is quite nice. One of the Best opening moves you can have with Inzektors now is: Summon Centiped; Equip Zektkalibur. You now have a 2400 ATK Centipede that if your opponent destroys and sends to the Graveyard, you can add it back to your hand and have it ready for your next turn. Also keep in mind that Zektkalibur is quite important to the more involved combos where you can go through every Inzektor card in your deck in one turn so be aware of what you can do at any given moment so you are not wasting options.
* Heart of Clear Water and Insect Imitation are two key cards to alternate variants of the Inzektor deck. I'm not real fond of these cards, but it may suit you so don't forget to give them a try.
* Having access to Inzektors that are in your Graveyard for what ever reason can be paramount to the deck's success at times. Especially in games where you were able to push hard early but it wasn't enough. Call also made it's way into Inzektor decks once Card Trooper was introduced to the deck.
* CED is quite a versatile card in what it does, but don't forget you can save your Inzektor in certain situations where your opponent would just use simple removal to be rid of the problem the bug presents.
* Roar has become a semi-staple for Inzektor bulids now since Roar can help protect your weaker Insects from being over ran by your opponent while you are in set-up mode, or even while you are in a position to turn a losing position around.
* The Extra Deck is one of the most dynamic aspects of the Inzektor deck. Of course there is incredible utility within the Main Deck, but we all know the end result of the hard work we put in is generally shown through what we Summon from our Extra Deck. Now, while the Inzektor deck can summon a lot more than what will be shown here, as well as in the other sections, these are just some of the talking points to get you on your way.
* Rank 3 is the most natural Extra Deck play the deck can make and so you will have more than a few options to choose from. First we have Leviair. Leviar gives you access to your Banished Inzektors that were put there for what ever reason. Allure of Darkness' effect, Dark Armed Dragon's effect, or maybe your Centipede was Bottomless Trap Holed; for what ever reason, Leviair gets your bugs back in the game.
* Giga-Brilliant won't be made in generic situations, but what this Extra Deck Insect offers you are end game options. Since you know the Inzektor deck can swarm when need be, why not add an additional 300 ATK to every Monster you have face-up on the field so it puts less pressure on you to have the right Monsters to end game, and allows you to have just enough. After all, we all know this game is not played in best case scenario mode.
* Whether or not you play Inzektor Hopper in your Inzektor deck you will have access to Rank 4's via Ladybug, so why not have a couple of the most flexible utility Monsters from the Rank 4 cast.
* Rank 5 is the most Dynamic Rank you can make since it is not natural per say. What I mean by this is you will normally be summoning Level 3 Monsters which require an effect to increase the levels. But - since you can it is very important you add in any of these to truly maximize your selections for in game scenarios. With the release of Volcasaurus you even have that game stealing, damage inflicting goodness. While Exa-Stag and Volcasaurus will be your most dynamic monster removal choices, you have Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja which is a better choice when the game is more open. Adreus and Tiras offer generic removal and presence, while Zenmaioh gives you the ability to do a little more since he can destroy two set cards.
* It is important to remember that the Inzektor deck CAN access Rank 6. This will all come down to how you build your deck and prioritize the Extra Deck and which slots go where.
* Now I wanted to end this section looking at some of the more fringe or dynamic individual Extra Deck options that can help define, or refine, your build. Melomelody acts as the Inzektors version of Daigusto Phoenix.
* You will want to add Gaia Dragon, The Thunder Charger to your Extra Deck if you don't feel safe leaving and Exa-Beetle or Exa-Stag on the field after using their effect. It becomes a dynamic choice since you can use those card's effects, as well as Volcasaurus' effect, and then overlay Gaia Dragon to continue to apply pressure as well as possibly end the game faster.
* Lavalval Chain is a great way to open the game if at all possible. A great way to build resources and get combo pieces where they need to be so once you are set-up, you can go off.
* I chose to put Veiler and Maxx "C" in the Side Deck area since both are good options, but player preference will sort out which belongs in the Main and which belongs in the Side.
* Ryko is a great option to get rid of pesky Macro Cosmos and any other problem cards.
* Since your deck runs mainly Insects, Rivalry could be a good Side Deck choice depending on the Meta you are Siding for.
* Royal Decree can help you counter the vast majority of Traps that can spell defeat for an Inzektor player.
* Soul Drain is the Inzektor option for battling Mermail which will be a difficult match-up.
* D.D. Crow is just one example of how effective Banishing key cards in the Inzektor Graveyard can be.
* Effect Veiler is one way to negate the effects of Inzektors in order to break up their combos.
* Book of Moon serves as another option to simply disrupt your opponent's Inzektor plays.
* If your deck can run Deck Devastation Virus you could possibly shut the Inzektor player out since a large majority of the their Monsters will have 1500 or less ATK.
* Fiendish Chain, SKill Drain and Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror all stop the effects of the Inzektor Monsters which is key, again, because it shuts their combos down as well as their ability to simply gain advantage from Hornet popping your cards. They may all be slightly different, but they all defend the deck in a similar way. Your exact deck will depend on which you use especially since Fiendish Chain could very well be in your main deck.
* Really Eternal Rest is an old card that finally sees play just due to the Inzektor match-up. Since the Inzektors need to be equipped to start generating advantage this card can be used as removal for all face-up, Equipped Inzektors on your opponents field. Just remember that if you have monsters equipped they die as well.
