Fabled needs more monsters. Like the last competitive version I saw of this deck that topped a reg, it had like 32 Monsters just to give you an idea.

I'm not sure what all else to add, I'm trying to keep to the synchro style, and not sure what monsters I ought to consider.

While the Fabled deck can Xyz Summon, it is a Synchro Summoning deck. So it will keep itself in that manner.

I'm debating on the use of a few cards like Kushano, and Trance Archfiend, snipe hunter, even Mist Archfiend... Any thoughts?

I would use Snipe over Trance and Mist.

g1nzO is correct Snipe hunter is better than most. Otherwise your trap(s) are too heavy on cost, trust me you don't have enough discarding power for all of that.
