Looks pretty solid, does it have a record so far, and what issues do you see when running it?

I'm surprised that a lot of the Rulers decks I've been seeing lately still aren't using Mythic Tree or Water Dragons. Tree helps with Rank 7s, and if you use Water there is a target to search off of Tidal's banish and can open up Rank 8 Xyz for more options, and a bit of surprise.

not being legal yet might be the issue.

Still I'm used to seeing people build towards what will be legal at time of events. Or especially so close to a set's release

People have started building/testing the Rank 8 play in the decks. I'd expect to see it rep'd quite well at the next premier event.

Agreed, I'm waiting to see what the future holds for the rest of this format.

I'm really loving the Rank 8 plays, Heliopolis and Giant Grinder are my current fave options.

Just noticed the Trident Dragon in the Extra Deck. I haven't seen him make an appearance in the Extra Deck of a Dragon deck in a very long time. Possibly since the Dragons were still OCG only. How goes that, and why over other options?

I haven't seen him in a list for a time, except some of my own that is. Are you liking the results of it?
