It's actually named after the Atreyu song. When I built this deck, that name came right to mind:
Total: 40
Monsters: 20
3 Destiny Hero - Plasma
3 The Atmosphere
3 Gentlemander
3 Vylon Prism
3 Effect Veiler
2 Summoner Monk
2 Evilswarm Mandragora
1 Star Drawing
Spells: 14
3 Trade-In
3 Pot of Duality
3 Mystical Space Typhoon
3 Scapegoat
1 Dark Hole
1 Inferno Reckless Summon (mostly to Mander Lock the opponent when I need a reprieve)
Traps: 6
3 Call of the Haunted
2 Fiendish Chain
1 Compulsory Evacuation Device
This deck steals my opponent's monsters and replaces them with my bigger ones. The Atmosphere takes the full ATK and DEF of whatever it equips, which is just about unmatched by any other monster. If you're wondering why I'm using it here, think of what allows me to use Plasma in the first place (namely, Scapegoat plus easily summoned monsters) then add Vylon Prism to the mix. Why, you ask? Well, Prism lets me tune into Level 8, which means... none other than Angel of Zera!
That's the real key to getting the most out of The Atmosphere. When I use two Sheep Tokens and an in-grave Zera to make The Atmosphere, I can turn one card (Scapegoat) into two massive monsters while taking the most important monster my opponent had on the field. That's just good YGO, and I've already done it more than once.
I've decided that the full-field lock (of Jinzo, Plasma, and Spell Canceller next to double Gentlemander) is too unwieldy to main. Instead, I simply side those Machines as needed. It would take a non-Atmosphere build to be able to main that kind of lock anyway.
This deck is amazingly fun, and it can create some evil fields that take some real thought to try and break.
