Bit of an issue just rose up. A lot of people are saying Hands still get their effects after be hit with Breakthrough skill. Their arguement is that the hands effects activate in the graveyard, and BTS only applies to faceup monster on the field.

Breakthrough Skill Target 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate the effects of that opponent's face-up monster, until the end of this turn.During your turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate that target's effects until the end of this turn.
It says "That face-up monster" for a reason. It will only negate that monster's effects while it is face-up on the field. Do not try to Breakthrough Skill effects that activate in the graveyard, it will not work.

Confirming. That has always been the case and has never changed. Veilering a Sangan means nothing to its effect that activates in the graveyard, and this is the classic example. The same would be for Dandylion, Reborn Tengu, Scrap Tuners that got destroyed by other Scrap effects (since their self-destruction would be otherwise negated if that was an issue), etc.
The only reason Veiler/BTS stops effects of monsters that eventually hit the graveyard is because those monsters activated on the field. The physical location of the cards doesn't change where the effect resolves [Effects activate and resolve in the same place]. That is why Veilering an Exiled Force will keep it from destroying anything with its effect if it chooses to activate it.
