Level Modulation into Horus means that right after they draw for their turn you can heavy slump them. Combine this with COTH into Kristya and they will have to draw two really badass cards to deal with not being able to special summon, and not being able to get their spell cards through. It's not the greatest deck, and it really only works that well if it's going first. But it's just for fun. And fun it is.

Again, this is definitely way too much fun. I can't particularly imagine a way to make this deck better at what it's trying to do, as the draw and hand-fixing power you're running really seems to be maxed out to make sure you'll have Heavy Slump at the end of your first turn.
I just worry about what you do when you have to end your turn without a monster on the field. Even if you do get Heavy Slump to go off, if you can't set up the grave, you won't be able to attack with anything.

Well, I should generally end with at least a RML or a Rank 4 if no Kristya/Horus plays.

Melody of Awakening Dragon Normal Spell
Discard 1 card; add, from your Deck to your hand, up to 2 Dragon-Type monsters with 3000 or more ATK and 2500 or less DEF.
So, discard 1 card search 1-2 rainbow dragon. It's pretty cool.

That is pretty cool, was it one of the Korean exclusives?

I don't think so. I feel like it was in whatever small pack had Cybernetic Fusion Support. Maybe the final gold series for the OCG?

Cool. So many things that we still need.
Anyway back to the deck- any more playing with this since Round 2 is done for you?

Not really, I have a lot of decks on the back burner so to speak. Including Hamster Burn 2.0 which is taking a decent bit of time and also a Creator God of Light theory deck. And, you know, schoolwork.

I need to stop building decks. Got too many ideas and not enough time to do most of them.

That is the problem. Most times I want to build them irl if I build them on DN. Never have enough time to test/play either way, and just would cost me more money in the long run.

Okay so I know what heavy slump, horus, krystia and such do, but explain the play to me please. this is one of those decks I think I can make better but I lack the time to get to know it well enough to do so on my own.

Okay so I know what heavy slump, horus, krystia and such do, but explain the play to me please. this is one of those decks I think I can make better but I lack the time to get to know it well enough to do so on my own. Okay, so heavy slump is the main idea right? It gets played (hopefully) before the opponent can go and makes them open the duel with 2 cards in hand. Kristya negates special summons. Horus negates spells. This leaves (ideally) the opponent two cards to work with and those two cards better be traps as Horus will negate spells and Kristya will negate special summons so floaters won't work either. The problem with Slump, is the opponent opens 5 cards in hand and then draws 1 more, bringing the total to 6 cards (two shy of Slump's activation) Horus is an incredibly powerful monster but a pain to summon through normal means, Level Modulation makes this doable easy.. but gives the opponent two more cards so generally isn't worth it. In this case though, the opponent opens 5 cards, you use foolish/trade-in to dump Horus and Kristya, then you play modulation. You get horus, the opponent gets two more cards. 5+2 =7 (Still one shy of heavy slump activation) so you end the turn with slump face-down and horus in play. Your opponent draws for their turn. 7+1=8. Now we can activate heavy slump and they are stuck with 2 cards in hand against Horus. They also can't play spells. Hopefully I've also set up Kristya in grave with COTH and that locks out special summons as well. Also, Monk > Library could make a rank 4 to further lock the opponent down. Hopefully this explains it, if not, let me know and I'll try to show you on DN sometime. (Sometimes seeing is easier than hearing right?)

What I don't get is why your not doing something more like this. gift of greed was first to my mind as was tytannial. shes and added level 8, and she forces them to 1-1 her away by minusing, she protects the play and also helps with trade it. the lone fires put her onto board, and princess of maples can also play trade in but potentially bring tytannial into the game. the rest is pretty similar I feel. to be honest I'd also like to do something like running dandy or some level 8 token producing monster to create a base for tributing in kristia or working around to make tytanial stronger, but at first blush this is what I got. thoughts?
