Well I meant for the newer ones to avoid the complications, but it sounds as if you have it worked out. Yes I did

I don't know if people have been talking, but promos are already known:
Ultra rare: Sylvan Peaskeeper and Ghostrick Jackfrost
Super rare: Sylvan Sproutcolyte or Bujin Decisive Battle

I'll be needing the Sylvans. Yay for more foils in the deck.

True, but I also like Blessing and Guardioak.

Got to gets money put aside for these things. Had a blast getting pulls out of the last deluxe edition. Can't wait to see what I get in these.

This is a nice cost efficient purchase. It's not as expensive as a box, but it offers a bit more than typical Special Editions.

They appear to be alternating sets between SEs and DEs. I'm fine with that.

No I get rid of the SE completely. I rather get 9 packs, a double deck box, sleeves, and foil prints of commons/rares than 3 packs and just one of 2 reprints of cards people don't want.

You can't say that part about reprints no one wants. You were the one defending Stardust in that last one. Tuning was a card that needed a reprint. Others before it were Red-Eyes Wyvern, Effect Veiler, T.G. Hyper Librarian, Absolute Zero, and Gold Sarcophagus. Going on to just DEs takes away an outlet for easily accessed reprints like those.

True... but I guess that will be up to konami: gold series, Legendary Collections, tins... will they need those reprints? Also... if they release the deluxe edition with those reprints? If they release every set, they won't need the foils from the current set...

But that is part of the draw for Deluxe Editions. Upgrades of cards that weren't getting the treatment players believed they should have.

Value of the entire package was the draw for me.
Not seeing why Konami should be putting a $30 price tag on this though. It shouldn't cost more than $25 IMO.
- Double Deckbox is a cardboard deck box, not a plastic one. - Foil treatment of common/rare cards doesn't improve the price of those cards by more than $0.10. - Official Sleeves are cool, but Ultrapro gives 50 sleeves away in there single plastic deck boxes with no price hike. Plus the 50 official sleeves we received in the tins a few years back didn't hike the cost of the tins either.
Real cost seems to be coming from the packs. Yes 9 packs is about $36, doesn't mean we should be paying close to that amount for a package deal like this.
