Not really sure what the merit of the Tenki/Bear engine is about. Is it necessary?

Actually the Rabbit engine was in there, I figured in order to clear the backrow spaces being used and have outs to a few select plays, I should run him.

A preference derived from the fact that you get additional value/utility out of the Tenkis', which were present due to the Rabbit's, if you added Bear. Is what I was saying since your comment made me think I wasn't seeing the actual reason.
