Updated rule in our Site/Forum Guidelines.
Necroposting
Necroposting is the act of posting on a thread where the last post was over 30 days previous. Necroposting is flat out spam, and will be reported to the Administration if the problem becomes a consistent one. You WILL receive infractions which lead to BANS. The following exceptions have been made for Necroposting;
-Deck Type Discussion Threads -Sticky'd Threads -Site Guideline Threads -Announcements (Provided they are forum wide threads previewed in the "Announcement" plug-in)

Good, we definitely needed this to go into effect.
Also, the Trade Reference Thread should be exempt from this. However individual trade threads should not IMO.

Actually I don't think the individual trade threads shouldn't be touched by this, there isn't much activity in that area. Plus it is a royal pain to constantly re-create trading lists (even if it is just copying and pasting). Just easier to update the list you already have.

"I don't think they shouldn't" This means you're agreeing with me, right? Double negative? Yet the rest of your post implies you are not. I would say they SHOULD considering someone just necro'd a trade thread that hasn't been posted on since December (and it isn't their own) So maybe it's a necro if it ISN'T your own thread? That seems like a compromise as I understand your point. But I don't think someone should be able to necro someone else's trade thread.

I agree it shouldn't be a necro if it is your own trade thread.

I actually updated my list recently and hadn't gotten around to posting that I had done so. So it's sorta grey on whether it is a true necro or not. I would say as long as its your own thread its alright, or in cases like this where the OP got updated.

I was thinking more in context to the trade section and BSA posting on my thread. This would apply exclusively to the trade section, since if we did that elsewhere it would rather defeat the purpose of stopping necro posting.

Okay but lets say I create a deck and post it in the deck thread area. No one looks @ it, even with me asking for advice. A month goes by and I still need help with this deck. I have made no changes to the build since its original posting, why should I have to waste my time creating another thread for the same exact deck?
Filling up the forums with multiple posts for the same deck is kinda defeating the purpose for preventing spam posting especially if the deck threads wind up getting ignored in the long run.

If a month goes by and you've never bumped your deck, you shouldn't necro it. If you bump it, you'll probably get a comment or two.

Unless I am mistaken he seems to be asking if "bumping" is available. I will check with the other staff members(and the posted rules) but I thought we discussed this prior and I "thought" in the deck section we agreed a 12 hour time between "bumps" was agreed upon and by extention allowed people the option to bump decks. I'll check before I conform that, but I was running on that assumption, if that is what you were asking Chris.

"Bumping" after 30 days sounds more like necroposting in my mind.

There is 12 hour rule for bumping.
but with the 30 day rule I create another thread for a same deck and it remains ignored now there are 2 threads for the same deck by the same person taking up space on the forum.
It shouldn't be considered necroposting if the thread creator is the one bumping it up.
