Yea, it is I, the one who Burns. In case you have forgotten the details over time, I'll remind you of who I am and what I've been up to.
I've been playing this game for a very long time. I think it was after episode six or seven that I went to school and, having previously ignored the show due to its "stupid name" foolishly keeping me from considering watching it, discovered that the game based on the show was actually quite entertaining. I knew a bit about card games (because I had some Pokemon cards, even though I never played or built a serious deck) and I could tell that Yu-Gi-Oh had something better suited for me. The first cards I ever bought were the Kaiba starter and a couple of booster packs. I can't even remember which set they were from, though. (That makes me a bit sad, now...) It would be a while before I got any good at it, mostly because my resources were limited but also surely because effect damage was hard to come by in those days.
Needless to say, once I found that I was not the type who was into the kinds of decks that most people were, I gravitated toward what I instinctively knew how to do, and that was Stall Burn. Once the card pool made the deck possible, I eventually headed to locals and got down to business. I've been using Burn as my main deck for... ~ten years, I believe?
I only play online these days, and I have not played in the real world since a bit before the Xyz era began, but I'm still very much trying to complete the Extra Deck in real life for my signature creation, ParalEclipse. (Maybe, if you're nice, I'll post the latest version here. ) Anyway, online dueling has allowed me to branch out in all different decktype directions. All I can really say is this: When I build decks, the meta is typically a target, rather than a goal. I aim to annoy and enlighten, and I will always follow that philosophy when crafting concepts. Of course, that makes it difficult sometimes for me to post decks on a forum because I tend to create decks that people just haven't seen before, leading to limited opportunities to get viable help until I've tested the deck myself. It also means I may not be able to tell you too much about how to get your deck better, but I will say that I've tried to become more of a "secret tech" proponent lately. If I suggest an unheard-of card, look it up!
Other than YGO, I'm a (very) quirky future meteorologist who has fairly recently moved from New York City to the middle of nowhere to live with my fiancee. I'm also an amateur songwriter who's very much into the spectrum of rock and metal. I love to spread the word about bands I like, so if you ever want to talk about that, I'll be way into that idea!
I'm pleased to see so many familiar faces here, and I'd like to think I can contribute here in my own way, just as I did in the glory days of the former home base. You may not always see what I'm doing, but a ninja finds a way to make their work known...
